History:
The 7.5cm PaK 40 was one of the most effective and widely used German anti-tank guns during the Second World War. Developed in response to increasingly well-armoured Allied tanks, the PaK 40 entered service in 1942 and quickly became the backbone of German anti-tank artillery. It could penetrate most Allied armour at long ranges and was deployed in nearly every theatre of war. The gun featured a split-trail carriage, which allowed it to be towed into position quickly, and a low silhouette that made it easier to conceal. Crews operating the PaK 40 often faced harsh conditions, particularly on the Eastern Front, where winter gear was essential for survival. Despite its large size and weight, the weapon’s effectiveness kept it in service through the war’s end. Today, it remains a symbol of German field artillery innovation. This model kit captures the engineering of the gun itself and the human element through the inclusion of a winter crew, making it a compelling addition to any historical diorama.
