Very simple tool, but well made. The clear see through Acrylic makes seeing and holding PE parts whilst removing them from the fret easy, and saves you from bending small parts, or feeding the carpet monster with the small PE parts you need, by preventing them flying away when you cut them.
Yes, you can manage without this tool, but it makes life easier if you have one.
