Thunder Models 1/35 scale kit of the German G10 Guterwagen (freight wagon) offers modellers a highly detailed representation of one of the most recognisable railway cars of the Second World War. Used extensively by the Deutsche Reichsbahn, the G10 served in transporting everything from munitions and fuel to vehicles, equipment, and troops. Its distinctive wooden plank body and sliding side doors made it a versatile workhorse across all fronts.

  • 1/35 scale plastic model kit (Thunder Model item TM35901)
  • Authentic plank-textured wooden sides with sliding door detail
  • Fully detailed undercarriage with brake rods, axles, and suspension
  • End platforms with ladders, buffers, and couplings
  • Optional open or closed doors and roof hatches
  • Photo-etched parts for steps, handrails, and linkages
  • Markings for Deutsche Reichsbahn wartime service

Note: This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.

Historical Background:

The German G10 Guterwagen was a ubiquitous sight on European railways during World War II. With over 120,000 built, it formed the backbone of the German military logistics system. These four-wheeled, closed freight wagons were constructed from wood on a steel frame and could carry up to 15 tonnes of cargo. In military service, they hauled everything from ammunition and rations to vehicles and even troops. G10 wagons also featured in numerous railway-based dioramas due to their versatility and frequent use across the Eastern and Western fronts. Many examples survived the war and continued in civilian use into the post-war decades.
