History:

The Fairey Barracuda Mk II was a British carrier-borne torpedo and dive bomber developed during World War II. As the Royal Navy’s first all-metal monoplane of its type, the Barracuda represented a significant advancement in naval aviation. Entering service in 1943, it was primarily operated by the Fleet Air Arm for anti-submarine warfare, reconnaissance, and bombing missions. The aircraft gained notoriety for its role in the 1944 attacks on the German battleship Tirpitz, where it demonstrated its versatility and effectiveness.
