History:
The Fokker E.II Eindecker was a revolutionary step in aerial warfare, marking the moment when aircraft became true weapons of war. Introduced in 1915, it was the first German aircraft to be equipped with synchronisation gear, allowing the pilot to fire a machine gun through the spinning propeller arc. This innovation gave German pilots a tremendous tactical edge and ushered in what became known as the ‘Fokker Scourge.’ The Eindecker’s impact on air combat was profound, and its streamlined monoplane design made it instantly recognisable. Pilots like Kurt von Crailsheim helped define the role of the fighter in modern warfare with machines like this.
