History:

The Royal Aircraft Factory BE2c was a British single-engine biplane developed during the early stages of the First World War. Initially designed for reconnaissance and artillery spotting, the BE2c later saw service as a night fighter tasked with intercepting German Zeppelin raids. Its steady flying characteristics made it suitable for night operations, although it lacked the agility of more advanced fighters. Nonetheless, it played a vital role in Britain’s early aerial defence, representing a significant chapter in aviation history. The night fighter version was typically equipped with upward-firing Lewis guns and enhanced instrumentation for nocturnal missions.
