History:

Formed in the late 1930s, the Fallschirmjäger were Germany’s airborne infantry and served as an elite strike force throughout the Second World War. They achieved early fame during daring assaults in Norway, the Low Countries, and most famously the airborne invasion of Crete in 1941. As the war progressed and airborne operations became less feasible, they were deployed as elite infantry in critical battles across Italy, Normandy, and the Eastern Front.
