History:
From the 14th to the 17th century, cottages like this were a common sight across rural Europe, especially in England. Constructed with timber frames, wattle and daub walls, and thatched or wooden shingle roofs, these dwellings housed peasants, craftsmen, and tenant farmers. They often featured simple floor plans with a central hearth and small windows, reflecting the architectural styles and materials of the time. Such cottages witnessed the upheavals of the Hundred Years War, the Wars of the Roses, and the English Civil War, serving as homes, hideouts, or even small headquarters during times of conflict. This model brings a touch of historical realism to any medieval or early modern tabletop environment.
