History:

The French heavy cavalry of the Napoleonic era represented the most formidable shock troops in Napoleon’s arsenal. Chief among them were the cuirassiers, recognisable by their steel breastplates, crested helmets, and powerful horses. These units were deployed in massed charges to break enemy lines and exploit weaknesses, playing decisive roles at battles such as Eylau, Borodino, and Waterloo. Alongside the carabiniers and dragoons, they formed the hammer of the French cavalry armdesigned for strength, speed, and intimidation. Their reputation for bravery and impact was well earned, and they were often used as the Emperors decisive force in major confrontations.
