Victrix Plastic Model Figures

Persian Armoured Spearmen (28mm) VXA044

This 28mm hard plastic set from Victrix features 30 Persian Armoured Spearmen—disciplined and well-equipped infantry ideal for forming the frontline of an Achaemenid army. Suitable for both Early and Late Persian forces, these figures are designed for use in tight formations behind sparas, offering a strong defence against advancing enemy troops.

The set includes 24 armoured spearmen along with 6 command figures, featuring optional parts for officers, standard bearers, and musicians. Multiple head, arm, and weapon options allow for dynamic and varied unit builds. Sparas (large wicker shields) are included to create the traditional Persian shield wall. This set is fully supported by shield and quiver transfers from LittleBigMenStudios for enhanced detail and customisation.

Perfect for historical wargamers, painters, and collectors, these figures are suitable for battles against Greeks, Macedonians, Scythians, Ancient Indians, and during numerous Persian civil conflicts. They bring essential versatility and visual weight to any Persian tabletop force.

History:

Persian armoured spearmen served as a core element of the Achaemenid Empire’s military forces, offering a blend of discipline, endurance, and protection. Clad in scale or quilted armour and equipped with long spears and large sparas, these infantrymen could hold defensive positions against heavy infantry and cavalry. Their role was especially crucial during confrontations with Greek hoplites and Macedonian phalangites, where shield walls and spear reach determined battlefield outcomes. Their presence was not limited to foreign wars—Persian spearmen were also active participants in internal dynastic struggles, civil wars, and revolts. This set captures the look and formation of these steadfast soldiers in detailed 28mm scale.
