History:

The Wars of the Roses (14551487) were a series of dynastic civil wars that tore through England as rival housesLancaster and Yorkfought for control of the throne. This conflict marked the twilight of the medieval era in Britain and witnessed dramatic developments in warfare, including the growing prominence of professional soldiers and artillery. Infantry units were typically composed of archers, billmen, and dismounted knights, all clad in livery colours representing noble factions. Pivotal battles such as Towton, the bloodiest fought on English soil, and Bosworth Field, which brought the Tudor dynasty to power, showcased the brutality and shifting allegiances of the period. This set captures the diverse ranks and equipment of soldiers who fought in one of Englands most iconic internal conflicts.
