History
The AH-64A Apache was developed during the Cold War by Hughes Helicopters to replace the AH-1 Cobra. Entering US Army service in 1986, it became a game-changing attack platform, armed with Hellfire missiles, Hydra rockets, and a 30mm chain gun. The Apache proved its worth in Operation Desert Storm, where it provided precision strike capability against armoured formations. Exported widely, the Apache remains one of the most feared attack helicopters in the world, with later variants like the AH-64D Longbow further enhancing its battlefield dominance.
