History:
The McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II was a cornerstone of US naval aviation during the Cold War. VF-84 “Jolly Rogers” became one of the most recognisable squadrons to operate the Phantom, flying from carriers such as USS Roosevelt and USS Independence. With its skull-and-crossbones insignia and reputation for precision and aggression, VF-84 became a symbol of US Navy air power.
