History:
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23 Flogger, introduced in the early 1970s, was one of the Soviet Union’s first swing-wing fighters. Designed as a response to Western aircraft such as the F-4 Phantom II, the MiG-23 combined speed, heavy armament, and versatility. It was widely exported to Soviet allies and participated in conflicts across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, serving as a backbone of Soviet and Warsaw Pact air power for decades.
