The Academy 1/35 PzKpfw V Panther D “Operation Citadel” kit recreates one of the most iconic German tanks from World War II. The Panther D saw its first combat during Operation Citadel, the Battle of Kursk in 1943, where its advanced armour and firepower were intended to counter Soviet armoured forces. This model offers a highly detailed build of the early Panther variant, ideal for diorama settings or standalone display.

History: The Panther was developed as a direct response to the Soviet T-34, combining heavy armour, sloped design, and a powerful 75mm KwK 42 L/70 gun. Introduced in 1943, the Panther D entered service during the Battle of Kursk, one of the largest tank battles in history. Despite early mechanical issues, the Panther soon became regarded as one of the best all-round tanks of the war, influencing post-war tank development across the globe.
