History
The Sopwith Camel F.1 was introduced in 1917 and quickly earned a reputation as one of the most successful Allied fighters of World War I. Powered by a rotary engine and armed with twin synchronized machine guns, it combined agility with heavy firepower for its time. Though it required skill to master, the Camel’s manoeuvrability made it deadly in the hands of experienced pilots. It was credited with shooting down more enemy aircraft than any other Allied fighter of the war, cementing its place as a legendary machine of early military aviation. The Camel flew with numerous squadrons across the Western Front and was instrumental in securing Allied air superiority during the latter stages of the conflict.
