Airfix Plastic Model Kit
Airfix Hawker Hurricane Mk.I (1/72) A02067A
The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I stands as one of the most iconic aircraft in British military history and a true hero of the Battle of Britain. As the RAF’s first production fighter to exceed 300mph and the first monoplane in service with multiple machine guns, the Hurricane played a critical role in Britain’s air defence during WWII.
While often overshadowed by the Spitfire in popular memory, the Hurricane bore the brunt of the fighting in the summer of 1940. With 32 squadrons taking part in the Battle of Britain, it was responsible for more enemy kills than all other British defences combined. Its sturdy construction and reliable performance made it a favourite among RAF pilots and a cornerstone of Allied air superiority during the early war years.

History:
First flown in 1935 and entering service in 1937, the Hawker Hurricane was the backbone of the Royal Air Force at the outbreak of WWII.
