History
The Garford-Putilov armoured car, one of the heaviest vehicles of World War I, was often deployed in extreme weather conditions. When stationary for extended periods, crews used canvas turret covers to protect the gun and turret mechanism from rain, snow, and dust. These covers also helped preserve the weapon’s operational readiness by preventing moisture ingress and reducing the need for frequent maintenance.
