Deluxe Materials 3D Weld – Solvent Adhesive for 3D Printed Parts
Deluxe Materials 3D Weld is a specialist solvent adhesive developed for assembling and joining 3D printed plastic parts. Supplied in a 40ml bottle, it works with PLA, PLA+, ABS, PETG and ASA, making it suitable for a wide range of filament-based 3D printing and scale modelling projects.
Unlike adhesives that simply bond two surfaces together, 3D Weld chemically fuses the plastic at the joint to create a welded connection. This produces a strong, non-brittle bond with a clean, seamless appearance, particularly useful when assembling detailed printed models or joining separate printed components.
Fast Bonding with Strong, Clean Joints
3D Weld has a fast initial grab time of approximately 4-5 seconds, with handling strength developing in under a minute. This allows printed components to be positioned and joined quickly while providing a short window for adjustment during assembly.
The low-viscosity formula flows into fine gaps and joints, helping the adhesive reach areas between closely fitting parts. This is especially useful with layered 3D prints, intricate components and assemblies containing fine surface details.
Key features include:
- Compatible filaments: PLA, PLA+, ABS, PETG and ASA.
- Welded bond: Chemically fuses plastic surfaces rather than relying solely on surface adhesion.
- Fast initial grab: Approximately 4-5 seconds.
- Quick handling strength: Develops in under one minute.
- Low viscosity: Penetrates fine gaps and closely fitting joints.
- Non-brittle finish: Creates strong joints that remain non-brittle.
- Paintable: Bonded areas can be painted once the adhesive has fully cured.
Suitable for Smooth and Layered 3D Prints
3D Weld can be used on both smooth and porous 3D printed surfaces. Its ability to penetrate small gaps makes it particularly useful when joining filament prints where visible layer lines or slight surface irregularities are present.
The adhesive is suited to assembling multi-part 3D printed models, attaching separate printed components and creating clean joints between complex shapes. It can also help smooth plastic surfaces during finishing, reducing the appearance of minor surface irregularities.
Assembly and Finishing
The rapid grab time makes 3D Weld useful for projects where parts need to be joined without a lengthy initial holding period. Components should be positioned promptly, as the adhesive begins to grab within seconds.
Once fully cured, the bonded area can be painted as part of the normal model finishing process. The welded connection provides a strong, non-brittle joint while helping joined components maintain a clean appearance.
Deluxe Materials 3D Weld combines rapid bonding, fine-gap penetration and chemical welding in a 40ml solvent adhesive specifically intended for PLA, PLA+, ABS, PETG and ASA 3D printed parts.
