Deluxe Materials Matt Magic – Dead Matt Varnish 100ml
Deluxe Materials Matt Magic is a water-based, odour-free matt overcoat designed to remove unwanted shine from scale models, figures, terrain and scenery. Supplied in a 100ml bottle, it produces a realistic dead matt finish on a variety of modelling materials while preserving fine surface detail.
Matt Magic can be applied over paint, printed card, plastic, varnish and scenery materials. It dulls the appearance of treated surfaces without obscuring the fine details that give models and scenic pieces their character.
As well as providing a matt finish, the overcoat can help seal scatter materials and disguise visible glue marks, making it particularly useful for scenic construction and finishing work.
A Dead Matt Finish for Models and Scenery
Gloss and unwanted reflections can make painted models and scenery appear less realistic. Matt Magic reduces surface shine to produce a flat, dead matt appearance across different materials.
Its ability to preserve fine surface detail makes it useful for finishing detailed figures, model components and textured scenery where maintaining the appearance of small features is important.
Key features include:
- Dead matt finish: Dulls treated surfaces to remove unwanted shine.
- Water-based formula: Odour-free overcoat for modelling and scenic applications.
- Multiple surfaces: Suitable for paint, printed card, plastic, varnish and scenery materials.
- Preserves detail: Maintains fine surface textures and modelling details.
- Scenic finishing: Helps seal scatter materials and disguise glue marks.
- Application methods: Can be brushed, dipped or sprayed.
- Size: 100ml bottle.
How to Apply Matt Magic
Matt Magic can be applied using a brush, by dipping or with spraying equipment. Preparation and drying are important parts of the application process.
- Shake thoroughly: Shake the bottle well before use.
- Allow to stand: Leave the product to stand for 30 minutes after shaking.
- Choose your application method: Apply by brush, dipping or spraying, depending on the model or scenic material being treated.
- Thin for spraying: When spraying, dilute with up to 10-15% water.
- Allow to dry: Leave the treated surface for approximately 2-3 hours to dry in a dust-free environment.
Finishing Terrain, Figures and Scenic Materials
Matt Magic is particularly useful when a consistent matt appearance is needed across different materials within the same modelling project. Painted components, printed card details and scenic surfaces can all be treated to reduce unwanted reflections.
For terrain and scenic work, the overcoat also helps secure scatter materials and reduce the visibility of glue marks left during construction.
The combination of a dead matt finish, fine-detail preservation and several application methods makes Matt Magic suitable for finishing models, figures and scenery. For spraying, use the recommended water dilution and allow 2-3 hours for drying in a dust-free environment.
