Green Stuff World Slime Effects Thinner is an auxiliary product developed specifically for adjusting and restoring the consistency of gels in the Green Stuff World Slime Effects range. Supplied in a 10ml bottle, it allows you to make thick, stringy effects more fluid or restore gels that have become excessively thick through evaporation.
Compatible with all six products in the Slime Effects family, the thinner can be used with gels designed to represent mucus, slime, secretions, viscous blood and gore. It provides greater control over how these materials behave during application, allowing different textures to be created from the same effect gel.
Adjusting Slime Effects for Different Applications
Slime Effects gels have a naturally thick consistency designed to create suspended strands, filaments, droplets and raised accumulations. Adding a small amount of thinner reduces their viscosity, making them easier to spread across a surface.
This is useful when creating effects such as:
- Thin layers of slime or mucus across miniature surfaces.
- Wet patches and viscous stains on models and scenery.
- Small puddles and trails of blood or other secretions.

How to Use Slime Effects Thinner

For greater control, mix a small quantity of gel and thinner on a palette or in a separate container. This allows you to adjust only the amount needed for the current application while keeping the remaining gel at its original consistency.
When creating suspended filaments or raised three-dimensional details, use minimal thinner to preserve the gel’s stringy behaviour. For puddles, wet layers and spreading effects, continue adding small amounts until the desired fluidity is reached.
Restoring Gels That Have Thickened
Slime Effects gels can become thicker when moisture evaporates, particularly if their containers have been left open or have not been sealed properly.
To restore a thickened gel, add a few drops of Slime Effects Thinner and mix slowly. Repeat gradually until the product returns to a workable consistency similar to its original texture.
Close both the thinner and gel containers tightly after use to help reduce further evaporation. Work in a well-ventilated area and follow the product label’s instructions and safety warnings.
