Hasegawa A-10C Thunderbolt II (1/72) HAE43
The Hasegawa A-10C Thunderbolt II is a highly detailed 1/72 scale plastic model kit of one of the most effective close air support aircraft ever built. Nicknamed the “Warthog”, the A-10C combines exceptional survivability, devastating firepower and outstanding low-speed handling, making it an indispensable asset for supporting ground forces.
Hasegawa accurately recreates the distinctive twin-engine airframe with finely engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit, realistic landing gear and sharply moulded external surfaces. The upgraded A-10C configuration features the modern cockpit and avionics improvements that have allowed the aircraft to remain a frontline combat platform well into the 21st century.
Built to Hasegawa’s renowned standards, the kit offers excellent fit and crisp moulding throughout, providing an enjoyable project for both experienced aircraft modellers and enthusiasts of modern military aviation. History
The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II entered United States Air Force service in 1977 and was purpose-built to provide close air support for ground troops. Designed around its formidable 30mm GAU-8/A Avenger rotary cannon, the aircraft is capable of destroying armoured vehicles while surviving heavy battlefield damage thanks to its titanium armour protection and redundant flight systems. The A-10C modernisation programme introduced digital avionics, advanced targeting systems and precision-guided weapon capability, greatly enhancing the aircraft’s effectiveness in modern conflicts. Having served in operations including the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria, the A-10C remains one of the most respected and battle-proven attack aircraft in the world.
