History
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk entered service with the U.S. Navy in the mid-1950s and became one of the most successful light attack aircraft ever built. The A-4M, introduced in the early 1970s, was the final production version and was developed specifically for the United States Marine Corps. It featured a more powerful Pratt & Whitney J52 engine, improved avionics, a redesigned cockpit and enhanced survivability, giving Marine pilots a highly capable close air support aircraft. The A-4M served extensively throughout the Cold War before eventually being replaced by the AV-8B Harrier II and F/A-18 Hornet, but it remains one of the most respected and recognisable attack aircraft in aviation history.
Glue and paints are sold separately.
