History

The A6M Zero entered service in 1940 and quickly established a reputation for exceptional range and manoeuvrability. However, as the war progressed, increased Allied aircraft performance required modifications to maintain combat effectiveness.

The A6M5C Type 62 Hei was one of the final production variants, featuring additional armour and more powerful armament to improve survivability and firepower. Although introduced during the latter stages of WWII, it remains an important development in the evolution of the Zero fighter family.
