History
The Volkswagen Kubelwagen Type 82 was developed as a lightweight utility vehicle for the German military during the late 1930s. Its simple design, low weight and reliable air cooled engine made it well suited for a wide variety of roles during the Second World War.
Used on nearly every front, the Kubelwagen served as a transport vehicle for officers, reconnaissance units and communications personnel. Its off road capability and easy maintenance made it one of the most widely used German military vehicles of the war.
