History

The Nakajima Ki84 Hayate entered service in 1944 and quickly proved to be one of Japan’s most effective fighters. It was armed with a combination of machine guns and cannon, allowing it to engage both bombers and enemy fighters with confidence.

Although production and maintenance challenges limited its overall impact, the Ki84 was widely respected for its performance and remains one of the most recognisable late-war Japanese aircraft.
