ICM MH-60L DAP U.S. Special Forces Attack Helicopter

The ICM MH-60L DAP is a detailed 1/48 scale model of the Direct Action Penetrator attack helicopter developed for U.S. Special Operations Forces. Created for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, the MH-60L DAP was adapted from the standard MH-60L to provide armed escort and direct fire support for transport helicopters.

This ICM kit recreates the distinctive armed helicopter with 300 parts and accurately reproduced geometry corresponding to the original aircraft. With a completed length of 421 mm and width of 343 mm, it offers a substantial subject for modellers building modern 1/48 aircraft.

MH-60L DAP Weapons and Equipment

The MH-60L DAP was designed to escort transport helicopters, provide direct fire support, engage armoured vehicles and suppress enemy air defences. The model includes AGM-114 Hellfire guided missiles and the 30 mm M230 Chain Gun, two of the helicopter’s principal weapon systems.

The real aircraft also carried an FLIR turret beneath the nose incorporating a laser rangefinder and designator for weapon targeting. Its systems allowed the helicopter to operate in demanding day and night missions alongside U.S. Special Operations forces.
