History:
The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) is the U.S. Navy’s newest and most advanced nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, commissioned in 2017 as the lead ship of its class. Incorporating innovations such as the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and advanced arresting gear, the Ford is designed for higher sortie rates, reduced crew requirements, and improved survivability. Serving as a mobile airbase, it supports a versatile air wing capable of executing strike, reconnaissance, and defensive missions worldwide.
