Matho Models 1/35 Metal Fence Set B

Add finely detailed metal fencing to your 1/35 scene with Matho Models Metal Fence Set B. This accessory contains one photo-etch fret with two highly detailed fence sections, providing a precise way to incorporate metal fencing into a diorama.

Each fence section measures 3.2 cm wide and 3.6 cm high. The left and right edges feature bolt detailing and can be bent through 90 degrees for easy attachment to a support column. A large photo-etch bending tool is recommended for achieving clean, controlled bends.

Compatible with Metal Fence Set B – Gate

These two fence sections are compatible with Matho Models 35060 Metal Fence Set B – Gate, sold separately. The fence design is also available as part of Matho Models 35087 Metal Fence B – Big Set with Gate, containing four fence sections and one two-part gate.

This set contains only photo-etch parts. Wall sections and support columns are not included.

Painting and Finishing

For painting and weathering, leave the fence sections attached to the fret initially. Airbrush a few layers of acrylic primer, allowing at least 24 hours between coats. Continue with your usual acrylic or enamel colours and weathering products, then seal the finish with a few coats of varnish. Allow the varnish to dry for at least 24 hours before handling the parts further.

Once the finish has hardened, place the fret on a hard surface such as wood or glass and carefully cut out the fence sections using a fresh knife. Handle the painted parts gently to help prevent scratching. Any remaining fret residue can be removed with a micro file, although clean cuts can minimise the need for filing along straight edges.

After cutting and handling, touch up any areas where the brass colour has become visible. Use a round brush with a very fine tip and your main colour for these small corrections before attaching the fence sections to their support columns.
