History:

The Republic P-47N-1RE Thunderbolt was developed as a long-range escort fighter for operations in the Pacific Theatre during the latter stages of World War II. Featuring a redesigned wing with squared tips and larger internal fuel capacity, it offered improved endurance for missions over vast oceanic distances. Its robust airframe, reliable Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engine, and heavy armament made it a fearsome presence in both air-to-air and ground-attack roles. Despite its size, the P-47N retained excellent performance and survivability, becoming a mainstay of the USAAF’s push toward Japan in 1945. MiniArt’s kit captures this important variant with clean, accurate lines and historical fidelity.
