Mr Hobby Primer

Mr Hobby Mr Primer Clear Type (170ml) B-512

Mr Hobby Mr Primer Clear Type is a specialist surface preparation primer designed to improve paint adhesion on a wide range of modelling materials. Supplied in a convenient 170ml aerosol can, this clear primer creates a durable bonding layer that helps paints adhere more effectively to plastic, resin, metal and other modelling surfaces.

Unlike traditional grey or coloured primers, Mr Primer Clear Type dries transparent, making it particularly useful when working with finely detailed parts or where maintaining the original appearance of the surface is important. The clear finish allows intricate details, engraved panel lines and delicate textures to remain fully visible while still providing the benefits of a high-quality primer coat.

The formula creates a thin, even layer that promotes strong paint adhesion and helps reduce the risk of peeling, lifting or chipping during handling and finishing. This makes it especially useful for resin accessories, photo-etched metal parts, white metal components and mixed-media modelling projects where achieving reliable paint adhesion can sometimes be challenging.

The aerosol format provides smooth and consistent coverage, allowing modellers to quickly prepare parts prior to painting. Once dry, the surface is ready for acrylic, lacquer and enamel paints, making it a versatile addition to any modelling workshop.
