VMS No-Peel Primer No. 5 in Mahogany is a deep, rich-toned primer designed to deliver excellent coverage and lasting adhesion across a wide variety of modelling materials. Combining the reliability of solvent-based performance with the convenience of a water-based formula, this primer is ideal for any modeller seeking a strong, clean foundation for their projects.

Though particularly useful for subjects like wood tones, red primers, or weathered finishes, this product is not limited to any one genre. It is fully compatible with models of all types, including aircraft, vehicles, figures and scratch-built dioramas. Whether applied to plastic, resin, metal or 3D prints, it ensures consistent results and a smooth finish.

Pre-thinned for airbrushing, it requires no additional thinning—the 40 cSt. Viscosity offers excellent flow and control even through fine nozzles. Use 0.2mm for precision work or larger nozzles like 0.3mm and 0.4mm for faster coverage. Best results are achieved at 30 PSI, though 20 to 40 PSI is entirely suitable.

Thanks to the small particle size of the binder, fine surface details remain intact. Primer is dry to the touch in 20 to 40 minutes naturally and can be painted over after 2 hours. With forced drying, wait just 30 minutes before applying paint. Clean-up is simple with tap water, though for thorough maintenance, VMS Airbrush Cleaners Pro Acrylic is recommended.

Note: This acrylic primer must be stored at room temperature. Do not allow to freeze. Shelf life is at least 36 months when stored in a cool, dark place.
