History
The StuG. III Ausf. G Late Production was one of the final iterations of Germany’s Sturmgeschütz III assault gun series, which served as a versatile anti-tank and infantry support platform throughout World War II. By the end of 1944, design refinements included a cast Saukopf gun mantlet, improved optics, and a remote-operated MG 34 on the roof. The vehicle was easier and cheaper to produce than turreted tanks, making it one of the most widely fielded German AFVs. This late version was instrumental in defensive actions on both Eastern and Western Fronts during the closing stages of the war.
