Rye Field Models Plastic Model Kit

Sd.Kfz.181 Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. E Tiger I Late Production (1/35) RM5080

This 1/35 scale model kit from Rye Field Models presents the Tiger I Late Production variant in exceptional detail. The kit accurately reflects the modifications seen in late-war examples, such as the steel-rimmed road wheels, new-style commander’s cupola, and loader’s hatch. Precision moulding, refined surface textures, and optional fittings allow modellers to recreate one of the most iconic tanks of the Second World War in either combat or maintenance configurations.

  • Highly accurate late production Tiger I
  • Includes detailed 88mm KwK 36 gun with interior breech detail
  • Optional turret roof fittings and stowage configurations
  • Separate engine deck panels with hinge and grille detail
  • Workable suspension and track links
  • Clear and photo-etch parts included

Note: This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.

History

The Tiger I Ausf. E Late Production was introduced in 1944, incorporating several battlefield improvements based on combat experience. This included overlapping steel wheels to replace the earlier rubber-rimmed design, a redesigned turret roof with improved hatch layout, and a modified exhaust system. Despite limited production numbers, the Tiger I’s thick armour and deadly 88mm gun gave it a fearsome reputation on both Eastern and Western Fronts. Its mechanical complexity and resource-intensive construction limited its impact strategically, but it became a symbol of German armoured power and remains one of the most iconic tanks in military history.
