Volkswagen Type 82E Staff Car (1/35) RM5023

The Volkswagen Type 82E was a unique wartime adaptation that combined the chassis of the Kübelwagen with the body of the civilian Beetle, serving as a light staff car for the German military. • Highly detailed plastic parts with accurate wartime body and chassis
  • Includes clear parts for windows and lights
  • Detailed interior including seats, dashboard, and steering
  • Optional open or closed roof and doors
  • Photo-etch parts for fine exterior detailing

History

The Volkswagen Type 82E was produced in limited numbers during the Second World War as a solution for staff transport needs. Built by combining the rugged chassis of the Type 82 Kübelwagen with the more enclosed and comfortable body of the civilian Beetle, the 82E was used by officers and command staff in non-frontline areas. It retained off-road capability thanks to the Kübelwagen suspension and was powered by the reliable air-cooled flat-four engine. While not as common as its Kübelwagen counterpart, the Type 82E is an interesting example of wartime ingenuity and adaptation, representing the crossover between military necessity and civilian design.
