History
The de Havilland DH.94 Moth Minor was introduced in 1937 as a modern training aircraft, intended to replace earlier biplane designs. It featured a low-wing configuration and enclosed cockpit, reflecting advances in aircraft design during the late 1930s.
Initially produced for civilian use, the aircraft was soon taken into military service at the outbreak of the Second World War. Many civilian aircraft were requisitioned and used for liaison and training roles within the RAF and other air forces.
Production was transferred to Australia, where the aircraft was built for the Royal Australian Air Force. It served as a training aircraft throughout the war, helping prepare pilots for more advanced types.
After the war, many Moth Minors returned to civilian use, contributing to the growth of private and sport aviation. A number of aircraft have survived and continue to fly today, reflecting the durability and practicality of the design.
