The Citroen 11CV, produced from 1934 to 1957, was nicknamed “Traction Avant” for its pioneering front-wheel drive design. A technical marvel of its time, it combined stylish elegance with practicality, making it a favourite for both civilian motorists and military forces. During WWII, it served extensively with the French Army, Free French forces, and was widely adopted by the German Army after the 1940 occupation. Deployed in theatres across Europe, it often acted as a staff car, liaison vehicle, and even as personal transport for Luftwaffe pilots.
