This 1/48 scale kit accurately recreates the FM-1 Wildcat, produced by Eastern Aircraft as a variant of the Grumman F4F-4. Designed for deployment from smaller escort carriers, the FM-1 featured four 12.7mm machine guns instead of six, providing improved performance while retaining robust armour and folding wings. This versatile fighter served with the U.S. Navy and the Royal Navy, where it was known as the Martlet, performing roles such as convoy escort and anti-submarine patrol until the end of WWII.
