Tamiya Plastic Model Kit
Fukuiraptor
The Tamiya Fukuiraptor in 1/35 scale recreates one of Japan’s most famous dinosaur discoveries with impressive detail and scientific accuracy. Developed with assistance from the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum and the Faculty of Dinosaur Paleontology at Fukui Prefectural University, this snap-fit kit captures the distinctive appearance of the prehistoric predator.
Part of the 1/35 scale figure and display kits range, the model features detailed skin texture, sharp claws and teeth, and a realistic body shape based on extensive palaeontological research.
- 1/35 scale plastic model kit
- Snap-fit assembly, no glue required
- Approximate length: 110-120mm
- Detailed skin texture and facial features

History
Fukuiraptor was a carnivorous dinosaur that lived approximately 120 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous period in what is now Fukui Prefecture on the northern coast of Japan. The dinosaur is believed to have reached around 4.7 metres in length and was equipped with sharp teeth and large claws used for hunting.
The species was discovered in Japan and became one of the country’s most important dinosaur finds. Fossils uncovered in Fukui helped establish the region as one of Japan’s leading centres for dinosaur research and palaeontology.
Fukuiraptor belonged to a group of fast-moving predatory dinosaurs and is recognised for its lightweight build and agile body structure. Ongoing research continues to improve understanding of its appearance and evolutionary relationships.
The Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum has played a major role in studying and presenting the species, helping bring Japanese dinosaur discoveries to wider international attention.
