Tamiya Plastic Model Kit

G4M1 Yamamoto with 5 Figures (1/48) 61110

This 1/48 scale Tamiya kit depicts the Mitsubishi G4M1 bomber associated with Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto’s final flight during World War II. On April 18, 1943, Yamamoto departed Rabaul aboard G4M1 No.323, accompanied by a second bomber, No.326, carrying Vice Admiral Matome Ugaki. Intercepted by U.S. P-38 Lightning fighters after Allied forces decoded Japanese communications, both aircraft were attacked. Ugaki survived a crash-landing at sea, but Yamamoto’s aircraft went down in the jungle near Buin, marking the loss of one of Japan’s most prominent naval leaders.

  • Highly detailed G4M1 model with historically accurate markings
  • Includes five detailed crew and officer figures
  • Faithful recreation of aircraft features, panel lines, and defensive armament
  • Options for open or closed canopy and detailed interior
  • Perfect for creating a historically significant diorama scene

This model captures both the technical details of the G4M1 and the poignant history surrounding Yamamoto’s last mission, making it a standout kit for any WWII aircraft collection.
