Tamiya Plastic Model Kit

M1 Super Sherman (1/35) 35322

The Tamiya M1 Super Sherman (1/35) 35322 captures the Israeli Defence Forces’ first main battle tank with outstanding accuracy and refined engineering. Based on the M4A1 Sherman, this version was upgraded in the mid-1950s to feature the powerful 76.2mm M1 gun, improved suspension, and distinctive cast hull. Tamiya’s precision moulding and attention to historical authenticity bring this post-war icon to life, making it an essential addition for any armour modeller.

  • Highly detailed 1/35 scale plastic assembly kit
  • Accurately reproduces the cast hull and 76mm main gun
  • Includes muzzle brake, one-piece loader’s hatch, and VVSS suspension
  • T54E1 tracks with realistic detail and fit
  • Commander and loader figures included
  • Three marking options for Israeli service
  • Model length: 210mm, width: 75mm

The kit faithfully represents a late-production M1 Super Sherman, built from extensive research of preserved museum vehicles. Featuring excellent part fit, crisp surface details, and optional figure poses, it delivers an engaging and rewarding build experience that captures the spirit of Israel’s early armoured strength.

History:

After Israel declared independence in 1948, the newly formed IDF sought a reliable and adaptable tank platform, turning to surplus M4 Shermans from various sources. By the mid-1950s, these tanks were upgraded with the 76.2mm M1 gun and became known as the M1 Super Sherman. Retaining the Sherman’s curved cast hull and radial gasoline engine, these vehicles were capable of taking on modern threats such as the Soviet-supplied T-34-85. The M1 Super Sherman first saw combat during the 1956 Suez Crisis and continued to serve into the early 1970s. Its success laid the foundation for later Israeli armoured innovations and remains a key chapter in the evolution of IDF armour.
