This re-issue model kit from Tamiya recreates the iconic Toyota Celica XX 2800GT, known outside Japan as the Supra. Originally launched in 1981, this second-generation model became a hallmark of Japanese sports car engineering. Featuring a 2.8-litre inline-six engine, MacPherson front suspension, and sleek fastback styling, the Supra XX 2800GT offered a blend of performance and sophistication during its time.
The 1/24 scale kit delivers sharp detail with authentic exterior lines, an accurately moulded interior, and updated decals. This modern re-release omits motorisation parts and the Yamaha Beluga moped from the original issue but adds improved parts fit and plating detail. Builders can enjoy crafting a retro street machine that captures the style and flair of 1980s Japan.
