History: Throughout the European campaign of WWII, US tank crews played a vital role in supporting Allied infantry and pushing through enemy lines. Operating in cramped conditions, often exposed to the elements, these crews relied heavily on their training and equipment. Uniforms varied depending on the season and supply conditions, but the M1943 field jacket, tanker helmet, and winter clothing were commonly seen in France, Belgium, and Germany during the later stages of the war.
