History:
The Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf. J was a significant development in the German Panzer III series during World War II. Introduced in 1941, the Ausf. J featured thicker armour than previous variants and was armed with a long-barrelled 5cm KwK 39 L/60 gun, improving its anti-tank capabilities. It served on multiple fronts including the Eastern Front and North Africa. The Ausf. J played a key role during Operation Barbarossa and the early campaigns in Russia, facing off against increasingly superior Soviet tanks. Despite being eventually outclassed by the T-34 and KV-1, the Panzer III remained an integral part of German armoured divisions until mid-war. Trumpeter’s 1/16 scale rendition captures this iconic vehicle with exceptional precision, offering modellers a large-scale platform with intricate detailing and realistic interior structure.
