History:

The AV-8B Harrier II Plus is a modernised variant of the Harrier series, featuring a powerful Rolls-Royce Pegasus turbofan engine and an advanced AN/APG-65 radar system, giving it improved air-to-air and strike capabilities. Designed for short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL), the Harrier II has served with distinction in multiple conflicts as a frontline aircraft of the United States Marine Corps. This kit includes markings for three historically significant aircraft: one from VMA-214 “Black Sheep Squadron” aboard the USS *Boxer* (LHD-6) in 2016; another from VMA-214 during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, based in Ahmadi, Iraq; and a third from VMA-311 stationed at Al Asad Airbase in 2019. Each version highlights the versatility and ongoing operational use of the Harrier II Plus in combat and support roles.
