12mm Hanomag Sd.Kfz.251/D VG12012
This finely detailed 12mm (1:144 scale) set from Victrix includes six Hanomag Sd.Kfz.251/D German halftracks, accompanied by a comprehensive decal sheet featuring black numbers and German crosses. Each model comes with crew figures, seated Panzer Grenadiers, and an assortment of stowage, allowing every vehicle to be uniquely configured.
The Sd.Kfz.251/D Hanomag was the backbone of German mechanised infantry transport from 1943 onwards. Deployed across the Eastern, Western, and Italian fronts, this versatile halftrack was a critical component in the mobility of elite Panzer Grenadier units. It served not only as a battlefield transport but also as a direct assault vehicle in combined arms operations.
Multiple specialised variants of the Hanomag were developed to fulfil different battlefield roles — including versions for fire support, anti-tank operations, engineering tasks, and mortar deployment. This particular set is designed to reflect the core personnel carrier variant, with Victrix also planning to release several other configurations in the future.
- 6 x 12mm Sd.Kfz.251/D Halftracks
- Seated Panzer Grenadiers and crew included
- Variety of stowage options

Note: This set requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.
History:
Introduced during World War II, the Sd.Kfz.251 series was designed to provide German infantry units with armoured mobility in fast-paced, combined-arms warfare. The D-variant, a simplified version for mass production, entered service in 1943. Powered by a Maybach HL42 engine, the Hanomag could transport a squad of up to ten Panzer Grenadiers and their gear while maintaining decent speed both on and off-road. Armed with two MG42 machine guns, it could support infantry offensives and defend itself against soft targets. Its presence was iconic in German mechanised columns, and its adaptability made it a favourite for conversions into command, engineer, and weapons-carrier versions. Its influence on post-war APC design was notable, laying the groundwork for future mechanised infantry tactics.
