Victrix 28mm Historical Miniatures

Victrix Rus Warband (28mm) VXP004

This Victrix Rus Warband provides a characterful and varied Dark Age force ideal for skirmish-level wargaming. Inspired by the early medieval Slavic tribes, this set includes an evocative mix of unarmoured fighters, well-equipped warriors, and ranged troops, making it an ideal core warband for games like Pillage or other historical skirmish systems.

  • 18 Unarmoured Warriors, great for raiding and ambushing
  • 12 Armoured Warriors, including Warlord and Standard Bearers
  • 6 Archers or Slingers for ranged support
  • Highly detailed plastic miniatures in 28mm scale
  • Dynamic poses and historically accurate gear

This set provides a solid foundation for an Eastern-themed warband with excellent flexibility in troop composition. Whether you’re flanking with lightly armed raiders or holding the line with mail-clad veterans, this box gives you the variety to do both with flair. The inclusion of ranged troops also adds tactical depth to your skirmish force.

Note: Figures require assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately. Transfers and bases sold separately.

History:

The Rus people emerged in Eastern Europe during the early medieval period, heavily influenced by Norse settlers and local Slavic cultures. Known for their fierce raiding and trading along the river systems, they became a dominant force from the 9th century onwards. The Rus warbands were often composed of hardy warriors skilled in forest warfare and surprise attacks, making them formidable opponents in the tangled landscapes of Eastern Europe. Their blend of Viking-style aggression and Slavic tenacity became the foundation for the early Russian principalities and helped shape the future of Eastern European warfare.
