Not every medieval monk spent his life safely behind monastery walls. Religious houses could possess considerable land, wealth and political influence, making them vulnerable during periods of conflict. When threatened, ordinary monks sometimes found themselves defending their communities with whatever weapons they could obtain.
Wargames Atlantic’s Militant Monks brings these unusual medieval combatants to the tabletop in a 28mm hard plastic figure kit. Rather than depicting the trained warriors of the great Military Orders, these figures represent ordinary religious brothers drawn into armed conflict to protect their faith, property and fellow monks.
Build a Varied Group of Fighting Monks
The kit provides a selection of heads, poses and weapons, allowing you to assemble a group with a mixture of appearances and equipment. You can represent monks hastily gathered to defend their monastery or a more organised brotherhood prepared to fight alongside a medieval retinue.
