Historical Background:

The Bergehetzer was a field recovery vehicle adapted from the Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer, modified with an open-top superstructure and a crane for vehicle repair and recovery operations. Built by BMM in German-occupied Prague, the late variant included improvements such as revised towing equipment, rear-mounted support blades, and simplified production fittings. Despite plans for high-volume production, only around 180 units were delivered before the wars end. These vehicles served primarily with panzer support and repair units, providing essential battlefield assistance under challenging conditions.
