Das Werks Pz.Sfl. Ia mounts the dependable 5 cm Pak 38 anti-tank gun onto the prototype “general-purpose ammunition tractor” chassis derived from Panzer I. This rare field-modified vehicle provides an intriguing what-if scenario: a light anti-tank gun with limited traverse, carried and supported by a compact, tracked tractor. The new-tool model includes an open crew compartment, detailed recoil mechanism, ammunition stowage racks, and finely engineered suspension components.

• Ammunition stowage racks and crate mounts within the tractor body

The Pz.Sfl. Ia is a creative field conversion concept that combines the Pak 38s anti-tank capabilities with the mobility of a tracked ammunition tractor. While not adopted in German service, it represents tactical innovation under material constraints late in the warproviding mobile, protected anti-tank support capable of keeping pace with faster armoured units.
